Omg look who's here! :eager:

... If we can definitely return back to the right time (and I don't have to go through all that shit again), primary school for a little bit. Back when I was seven, obsessed with dinosaurs, in love with my best friend, and thought my father had a castle in Spain. (Castle in Spain actually meaning a castle in the air, in French - but my dad didn't tell me that part.)

Omg its......GIRLY MAAAAAAAAAAAN! :la:

HAHA YESSS. that's exactly the time I'd go back to... good ol' days when all you had to worry about was not catchin' the cooties! but lmao, must've been heartbreaking finding out about the castle :XD: oh man, I wonder if Jurassic Park had to contribute to the Dino obsession back then :o so... this best friend... :eyes: lol jk, still in touch with em? I think my best friends were all boys back then :hmm:

 I had forgotten that!!!

How have you been?

I didn't even worry about the cooties. I was madly in love and didn't care about the rest of the class. I never saw Jurassic Park, although my friends (best friend didn't see it either but three of the other boys had) liked it. Unfortunately no, I am not in touch with the friends from the past. We kind of drifted apart during the boy-girl apartheid that followed for the last three years in primary school. I still remember the best friend, of course, but I haven't been in touch for 19 years, so... Sadly I have forgotten the last name of two of the other boys, who were twins. :/ No way of getting in touch with them.

Yeah you just bring out the best memories :')

I've been great! Just been busy with life & trying to get back into the whole devious art scene.. although seems far more deviant than art lately  but then, that's what I loved about this place anyway

LOL explain "madly in love" from a 7 year old's perspective! I'm curious to know :XD:

Aww that's sad. But I'm sure you can find them on Facebook? Maybe through a school group? Everyone and their dog is on there! I've found heaps of old classmates that way... it's so weird though sometimes I wish I hadn't.. cause either they grew up so fiiiine or it's just like "I prefer the younger version of you in my head" :paranoid:

I have that video in my favourites on Youtube, by the way. :P

I know that feeling. I really struggle with the work/dA balance these days. I feel like I "come back" for two hours then spend two weeks away.

Well, I have never been in love since, so perhaps I'm not the most objective person to describe love at the age of 7. I loved him both for his good points (humour, courage, determination, creativity) and for his weaknesses/vulnerabilities; every moment spent with him made me happy; we both had differing viewpoints on things (esp our "romance" which for him was friendship, nothing else :XD:) but we still got along without problems; we knew we wanted to be together in the long term and even had plans re career ambitions and so on. I haven't known love since so I can't compare, but it seems pretty legit to me. Certainly more to go on with than Twilight...

No, sadly not. The twins left our school when we were 10 or so, to return to France or Reunion, I can't even recall - they were French. Facebook didn't happen until 9-10 years later, by which time everybody I know who had been in touch with them had forgotten them too. I can't find them anywhere. I have tried. Them, I would actually get in touch with again.

What you say about finding old friends on FB after not being in touch with them for many years... that is how I feel about the boy I mention above. It's not that I wish he hadn't grown up or that I prefer the version in my head. It's just that we each have our separate lives now and, you know, we've moved on past each other.

"I feel like I "come back" for two hours then spend two weeks away." EXACTLY THIS.

Lol wow, even at 7 you knew exactly what you admired in a man, or boy in this case

Back then, I was too busy trying to BE like the other boys. Now 20 years later, I wish they were more like ME (not physically, just have the same ideas, perspective) It's like no one, single atleast, knows how to have an intellectual conversation about things that actually matter. Or maybe I'm just too damn picky
:paranoid:

Yeah, I can totally understand the dilemma. Maybe it would've been different had you been able to keep in touch (through snail mail or something) but that moment in time has now passed.. Moved away, moved on. Well, I just wish you're able to find the same qualities in someone now to experience this so-called "madly in love" again :D

just hope it's not something scary in the future like an inevitable zombie apocalypse that you can't change nothin' about :paranoid: cause then you'd have to live with that knowledge until the time comes again :crying:

We're well! :aww: I spent two months with her, but that's almost two months ago now and we don't know when we'll see each other again but we're happy together. :la:

Yeah, I'll have a final bachelor project though they reduced it in size a lot. I'm not sure how much it'll demand of me now. I hope to do it at Peerby, too, but not sure if they will allow that after I did an internship here too.

I don't think I'll do a master's degree right away actually. We don't really have different kinds of masters like that I think. I'll probably go for something that interests me when I've worked for a few years and feel like going back to uni. At least for now I'm planning to stay with Peerby for as long as I can :la:

That's right! I haven't really got the hang of it yet though. Obviously instagram is harder for me than dA is for you  But I'll try again. :la: Where do I find your other updates?

Verryy exciting! I'm too lazy to stalk up on your journals :paranoid: but how's everything with you and Ellen? :la:

EEP Bioinformatics, how fancy! :iconisayplz: (gawd i missed these icons)
Good luck with your last year! Not sure if you guys will have a senior project? But I hope it goes well :) What kind of Masters are you interested in though? Research-based or Coursework?

Lol no worries, I just find it easier to share updates about myself or my art on Instagram than anywhere else.. besides in the last poll you mentioned you would :B I find this place too cluttered now x.x doesn't help that the day I decide to come back, they've changed everything  it'll take a while to get used to it all.. you're gonna have to fill me in on the juicy stuff! :eager: but yeah, I've been great! :aww:

Aww, well like they say... Absence makes the heart grow fonder :aww: no really, it's true. ya get sick of living with someone 24/7 -_- lol nah, but atleast after grad you get to look forward to meeting her for longer periods :eager:

Just had a look at Peerby, sounds like a wonderful project! I'll definitely have to sign up if I'm ever in need of something :dummy: What's your role there exactly? Data analysis?

Updates, honestly no where else. I can't be bothered when it comes to like status updates or something especially with all these heaps of sites & apps x.x ain't got time for that! Also, I just don't feel comfortable sharing it with the general public :paranoid: So I totally understand if you can't get on Instagram.. Besides there's always Skype!

Hehe yeah. It's funny, when I'm with Ellen I will stay with her for weeks or months at a time and rarely feel the need for more than an hour or two of being alone. That's probably because it is so rare that we're together. And I'm more social than I thought.

Awesome. :la: I do a lot of things, data analysis is my favourite thing, but most often customer service.

Hehe alright! I can get on instagram but it doesn't seem like the best place to talk, though I always like seeing your art :D

We're all social with people we feel comfortable with :dummy: especially for introverts!

cool cool, hope you get to stay there then :eager:

It's all good, I'm slowly getting back into things here so no need :la: but it would be cool if when you and Ellen meet, or any other devMeets, you updated us there with where and what you guys did
